PCJB Maleficent 2: Mistress of Evil

I just got back from the cinema watching Maleficent 2: Mistress of Evil and thought that there was so much action, adventure and excitement that I decided to make a blog post about it.

Image result for maleficent 2 mistress of evilMaleficent travels to a grand old castle to celebrate young Aurora's upcoming wedding to Prince Phillip. While there, she meets Aurora's future mother-in-law -- a conniving queen who hatches a devious plot to destroy the land's fairies. Hoping to stop her, Maleficent joins forces with a seasoned warrior and a group of outcasts to battle the queen and her powerful army.

Fabulous costumes, vibrant art direction, and the on-screen duelling of two Hollywood queens -- Jolie and Pfeiffer -- save this from being another uneven, unnecessary sequel.

With widespread death and destruction, this fairytale costume drama is by no means a child’s play. However, it has enough live-action magic to bring the big screen alive.

An improvement on the first film, in the end, and an encouraging rallying cry against fear and intolerance, but it’s still far too busy and baroque to match its leading lady’s elegance.

I really enjoyed this movie and would recommend it to be 8+. It is an action, adventure, PG, and most of all, exciting!
