My blog is a collection of my work at various stages, across different curriculum areas. Throughout my time at Paparore School I may share draft copies of my work for feedback and feedforward. Other times I will share my final published pieces.

!2nd day at Te Kauru camp: Rainbows End!
The Haunted House
When we got in the haunted House, it was SUPER SCARY because the people in the pictures were moving. They changed from their normal face or skin into a zombie or something like that. There was a lady who guided us through the house. She told us that if your wearing anything that’s white it will glow because it was very dark. There were lots of rooms, spider webs and frightening pictures. The first room in the Haunted House was scary but cool. In it was an old woman like skeleton on her rock chair holding a dead baby trying to put it to sleep while looking at us with a big evil grin. Bleach. The next room was pretty horrifying. There was blood on a bed with 2 plastic baby dolls ripped apart with their eyes open. Creepy right. In the hallway I saw brown material tubes hanging down from the roof. They were kinda hard but everyone behind me got lost and scared so I had to guide them to where we were. Around the corner I saw an electric chair. A CHAIR,oh yes yes yes YES! Ah. So nice. The tour guide lady lowered the head part that electrocutes you and asked if she wanted me to do this. Pull the lever. I shouted. Do it. I’m not afraid! She slowly pulled it down. Lower and lower came the lever until she slammed it. I SCREAMED for 1 second and then stopped. I wasn’t electrocuted luckily. What the headpiece of the chair actually does is it blows air on your head really hard and fast. Everyone around me stepped back as I screamed. I was laughing hard out. As we came out everyone was looking at us as if they were thinking ‘’what happened in there. I am not going in there for sure’’. I said to them that it was okay. Just got a fright. Everyone was relieved and walked away. That was the best day of my ENTIER ENTIERS LIFE! I wish we could stay here longer but we can’t and I don’t know why.

Te Kauru Camp 2018-(Writing 2nd Draft)
The Haunted House
When we got in, it was SUPER SCARY because the people in the pictures were moving. They changed from their normal face or skin to a zombie or something like that. There was a lady who guided us through the house. She told us that if you're wearing anything that’s white it will glow because it was very dark. STEAM Term 3 2018.docx
Name: Paige Beach Date: 18.09.18
STEAM - TERM 3
- Coding (Snap4Arduino) and Circuit Boards
In Term 3, the students have been continuing their STEAM learning using the STEAM Electronic kits. They have been learning how to block code using the program Snap4Arduino. The purpose of this learning has been for the students to control one or more LED lights on an electronic Arduino board using code. Each week the coding expectation increased and the students showed perseverance in achieving successful outcomes!
Learning Goal 1. To make an LED blink on/off by controlling voltage from 0V to 5V by programming the Arduino.
Learning Goal 2. To change the speed of blinking to such a high rate that the LED appears to be dimmer.
Learning Goal 3. To make the LED fade on and off by varying the voltage.
2018 - Term 3 STEAM - ‘Coding and Circuit Boards’ Reflective Questions.
Paige and izabela's LED circuit!
What did I do well and how do I know? I did very well with working together with Izabela and putting together the circuits and coding. I know because me and Izabela Made 5 LED lights flash alternately.
What challenged me? Trying to help others without being appreciated and wiring all LED lights the correct way.
What would I do differently next time to make my learning more successful? I would ask them to be patient while I try to help them and use the booklet a little bit more often.
